This book began with a thought that went something like this: “maybe I can sell some drawings and give the money away to save some dogs.” Over the course of three years it evolved into the book you see here. Marnie’s hope continues to be to use her artistic abilities to raise awareness and funds to help in the fight against animal neglect, cruelty and to support the collective dream of a no-kill nation. In an attempt to make some difference, 100 % of the profits from the sale of this book have been donated to animal shelters, Austin Pets Alive! has been the largest recipient.
The pup on these pages is one of her rescues, Bonham, saved from the euthanasia list at San Marcos Animal Shelter in Texas. His high heartworm positive status was a certain death sentence. He’s a happy, well-loved boy today with a lovely, also rescued, canine companion.
There are a limited number of books still available and will be shipped to you for a minimum $15 donation to a non-profit shelter. Only 500 books were printed. Marnie and Bonham are happy to sign them for you or perhaps for a child in your life who shares a love of animals.
Our thoughts are always with the millions of animals who don’t get to make it out of the shelters. Please, choose adoption first. You save two lives, the animal you bring home and the space you make for yet another to enter the shelter to have a chance of a new life.
